Like many performing artists, Mercer needed to temporarily part from NYC due to job shutdowns from COVID-19. In celebration of her past 5 years and saying goodbye for now, we socially-distance explored empty Broadway streets, masked-up Times Square and our favorite mid-town cookie joint. See you soon, Merce. <3

My dear Sabrina Furches is all over my instagram and photo albums for a good reason. She is a brilliant, beautiful, bald Egg with a heart of gold and SUCH modeling skill. We dove into this concept with Victoria Boccella as the Make up artist. Victoria and I wanted to show some deeper, edgier looks than what we both normally get to explore with our headshots and standard portraits. Sabrina and I got to play with bathtubs, hallways, and some badass chains and holy wardrobe. ;P
I met Cara in the dark halls of the McKittrick Hotel- home of the famous Sleep No More where we stood in dark corners in black masks for hours. It was a strange gig. Within the first few days of meeting, it was already known to me that Cara had some powerful female heroes. Jessica Lange, Joan Crawford, among the many, but the woman who seemed to inspire her style most obviously was none other than Stevie Nicks. We talked for months about doing a Stevie Nicks inspired shoot and finally found the perfect opportunity. Stevie and Cara have more than a few things in common. They share a love of lace shawls, moons (Cara is wearing a replica of one the necklace Stevie wears), and a vintage inspired spooky style. But probably the most evident is Cara's growth, strength and the badassery that both she and Stevie have maintained through whatever life throws at them. ☾ "I've learned as time passes, all the things that you're afraid of will come and they will go, and you'll be alright." - Stevie Nicks Featuring: Cara Marie Wilson
Red and Black Crochet Shawl: Meg Brophy I've known Alyssa for a few years now. She and I lived together in a brightly lit Washington Heights apartment- the first place in New York that ever really felt like home. We often missed each other because of schedules, but when we were together our nights were cozy, full of deep talks, and filled with some funny moments like Alyssa teaching me how to cook basic things like pan-fried brussel sprouts.
Shooting both people you know and don't know well are special in their own ways, but what I loved about our shoot is that I had an idea of what Alyssa's soul is like. And that is what we surrounded our shoot with. Alyssa is a warm cup of tea with a splash of oat milk. She is a nice-herbal-smelling bath with colorful flowers and a bright aura envied by all the mermaids . And what are two of my favorite things in the world? Bathtubs and tea! So this worked out! Alyssa was a blast to explore these concepts with. *Contains mild nudity, though I feel silly even warning you because everyone has nipples. |
